I offer painting & drawing tuition, as a local established artist, qualified at BA level, I tutor painters wanting to enjoy painting the splendour of Bath. Groups can be one or up to 7 people. Call to discuss how I can help make you the artist you aspire to become or just have fun.
EQUIPMENT ON THE PAINTING DAY
I provide the paints, brushes and easels for watercolour, acrylic and oil painting and easels if required, all brought to the painting location for you to use. Artists are welcome to use their own equipment as well if you have a favourite easel or brushes you want to use.
With my local knowledge I can assist you with travel tips and pick out the best places to paint, be it outside the Crescent or in the middle of town.
All paintings can be stored at my house and forwarded on by post if still wet (especially if in Oil).
This is an enjoyable experience and artists will end up with their own unique souvenir painting of stunning Bath. Sun hats are essential on hot days, jackets and gloves sometimes needed either side of Summer, however please only wear clothes that you don’t mind splashing paint onto.
RICH TIP ! Why not pick up a shirt from one of Baths many charity shops to wear on the day.
For a day’s painting (morning session 10.30-12.30, lunch 12.30 – 1.30, afternoon session, 1.30-3.30) – ,£35 per person.
Bath is such a unique City. Bath’s architecture is stunning and draws a worldwide audience. Painting ‘en- plein-air’ is simply painting in the great outdoors, come rain or shine, however really bad weather may result in postponement.
I studied Art at Amersham Schoool of Art in 1988 and followed this with a career in Graphic Design always maintaining my passion for drawing and painting along the way. Moving to beautiful Bath Inspired me to start painting. Bath has the architecture, light and atmosphere any artist would fall in love with and there is so much to paint. The enthusiasm of the public when painting constantly amazes me. There is so much passion for painting, seeing an artist set up seems to fascinate people of all walks of life, be it an unlucky homeless soul or a Royal Crescent resident. The response is always so constructive, we all have a point of view, be it with words or paint and all are equally valid. I recommend street painting to anyone and everyone.

SAM AND KAT. 8/9/2012
Amazing weather for a Painting Day in Parade Gardens. The sun was on Pultney Bridge and the water sparkled on the wear. Sam and Kat travelled quite a way to get to Bath and Sam had organises the Painting Day for his girlfriend Kat as a surprise. Both of them produced inspiring paintings in very different styles. (see pics). The sun hats were given a rare outing as the sun beat down. What a great day.
